Our Mission

What is our Mission?

This is has always been one of the hardest and easiest questions.

Our mission is to help, to make a difference, and to change the trajectory of an animals life that has been forgotten or stirred off course.  It is to help them heal and find safety again in people.  It is to show them it is okay to trust and okay to love and okay to try again.  It is to show them what love means and find them a happily ever after.

It is more than that though.

Education is everything.  In the horse industry or outside of it, few know of the full horrors these animals endure with slaughter houses, kill pens, auctions, and traders.  Few know of the absolute complete neglect, starvation, and abuse these animals suffer at the hands of those that are sent to care of them.  Shining a light on this underbelly of the horse industry is the only way it will even change.  Our mission is also to change this and spread awareness so this never has to happen to another animal.

We also hope to be able to help these animals with the engagement of the community around us and be able to give back.  It is what horses and donkeys do for us- they give us so much more than we could ever give in return.  We hope to be able to share this and support our community the way they have support us.

Sometimes I ask myself, who saves who and who is really the rescue- them or us?

About Us

Alex founded Fairytale Farm in 2017.  This was not an effect or undertaking to be done alone.  It was only with the support, encouragement, and love from those around that Fairytale Farm was able to blossom.  Today, Alex and her husband Eric, although with their two kids Riley and Logan, are thankful to get to help and take in more animals because of the wonderful team of volunteers and community who have come together to make this all possible. Fairytale Farm is entirely dependent on volunteers, sponsors, donors, and the community and we are thankful for the opportunity to care for these animals thanks to all of you.
